For CCS we have to create a review for one of the British galleries at the V&A. When visiting it was important to look at the displays, theme of the room, atmosphere, what issues we’re represented, the target audience.
I found this so much more interesting than I expected. I found it really fun to concentrate on the atmosphere and the layouts of the room, I feel it’s something I already did without realising. Especially with the V&A I find I pass a lot of the pieces of art and cultural artefacts, and stick to the way everything looks together. For me at least the atmospheres at the V&A are far more interesting.
I ended up picking The Great Exhibition gallery. At first I really liked it, but I think that was just the atmosphere fooling me. The closer I got, the more I realised what was wrong with the curation of the gallery.
