Dialogue Studio: Armin Hoffman

The first time I saw Hoffman’s work was just last week, but I found it very captivating. I thought that some looked very theatrical, which turns out to be their exact purpose.

During the first Hot House talk, it was mentioned that black, red and white are the best colours for print. I think that’s so true and it’s definitely proven in Hoffman’s work it’s so effective, and really he just used all black with a bit of red and white.

He used Lithography to create his work, which is a method I don’t know much about. Yet it sounds pretty interesting, it’s the process of printing from a flat surface which is treated so that it repels the ink except where it is required for printing.

All images are of Armin Hoffman’s work, not taken by me.
